concepts for Apple watches

Every time Apple is about to launch a new big product, like the iPhone or the iPad, fanboys go crazy creating some concepts and mockups of what the device could look like. As far as I know, Apple is not planning to start producing watches and didn’t even give any hint that they could. However, Apple’s product design are so inspiring that people will try to emulate it on various other products, in this case watches.

iWatch

This concept takes a lot from Apple’s UI goodness, but the overall product design doesn’t look that good to me. I’m not so sure that the touchpad would be so efficient on such a small screen either.

iCal watch

The idea behind this concept is quite good, but I’m not sure about how practical such an item would be if you can only update it from your computer.

hiPod

A concept that proposes to include the iPod’s functionalities in a watch.

iPod watch

Another iPod-like watch concept, interesting too.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Samsung Galaxy Note - Samsung Galaxy Note 2 release
All you Samsung fans have been spoilt this year already with the release of smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2, Samsung Galaxy S Advance and the most notable release, the Samsung Galaxy SIII. Just a mere three months after the launch of 2012’s most popular smartphone, Samsung are once again planning to launch the next Galaxy device in August 2012 and is widely rumoured to be the new Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

The original Samsung Galaxy Note

Let’s start with the original Samsung Galaxy Note. The Note is the perfect middle ground between smartphone and tablet and was the first of its kind. Sporting a whopping 5.3 inch HD Super AMOLED display, viewing videos and browsing the net is a joy. Inside the large shell is a 1.4GHz dual core processor; a must have for any multitasking addict. The Samsung Galaxy Note comes with a built in stylus called the S-Pen. This is great for making notes, texting and all round use of this “phablet”.

The new Samsung Galaxy Note 2

So, what can we expect from the rumoured Samsung Galaxy Note 2 you ask? Well, for a start, the Samsung Galaxy Note II is rumoured to modestly increase the size of its already large display from 5.3 inches to 5.5 inches, which is 0.7 inches larger than the new Samsung Galaxy SIII.
With a new streamlined ‘unbreakable plane’ (UBP) display, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is expected to run on Google’s new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and a 1.4GHz quad core processor similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S3. This means you can multitask to the max and in style on the new larger display. Also rumoured is a new 12 megapixel camera for even better quality photos and videos.

HTC tablet

Over the past weeks there was a Twitter account called @evleaks that leaked a lot of new products, including the HTC Accord that’s launching today,  plus a mystery HTC tablet. The tablet is pictured below in the gallery and we compare it to the mockup you see as the first picture, a creation of the designer Danny Tu. He was the one who created the brilliant HTC 5 inch phablet.
HTC Flyer X7 Mockup Versus HTC Tablet Leaks
His creation was so good that even Engadget thought it was the real deal and now he’s back with a HTC Flyer 2012 version called HTC Flyer X7. To me this looks like an elongated HTC One X, especially at the back. It would be cool if HTC launched a new and kickass 7 inch tablet, with Beats Audio technology on board, loud and clear speakers, a decent 8 megapixel ImageSense camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Quad core is a must have, especially in the Snapdragon S4 Pro flavour and 2 GB of RAM would also help.
Other than that well, maybe a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution would help, as well as a 2 megapixel front camera. The tablet in the leaked images from @evleaks looks more like a 10 inch device and apparently also borrows a lot from the design of an iMac, a little too much actually… Did HTC create this device only to figure out that it resembles the iMac and then killed it?!
